Search Engine Result Page (SERP) is ranking method on a search engine for web page’s listing and relative placement on a results page for a certain search term query. As an example, if you type “marketing blog” into the search box at Google, you will get those listings displayed, with 10 listings per page by default, that Google deems most relevant to the search phrase “marketing blog”, sorted in order of relative importance.
The most relevant and most important web pages are listed in descending order. For Google, page relevancy is dependent on how well a web page matches a specific word search. Page importance on the other hand is dependent on the quality and quantity of links that point to your web page from other websites.
If your site does not appear in the top 20 for your most important keywords search terms, you might as well forget getting much traffic from Google or from any other search engine. Because many people never go past the first page for a search result, you really need to be in the top ten of search engine ranking.

Hi!
Is it difficult to be in top ten of search engine ranking?

Forgetting traffic from Google sounds outrageous. Aside from the fact that Google’ is the world’s most popular search engine, giving up just because your blog still haven’t landed on the top results of the SERPs is a bad attitude. It’s a tough competition so getting like 20-40 is already a feat (even though the traffic could be low). Then again, we should also put in mind that just because we’ve taken a spot on the top results, it doesn’t automatically mean enormous traffic. The point is just to build up success over time. no rush neccesary, patience is the key.
